What could be done to increase the impact of the change strategy? Choice A Janet should have kept a closer eye on things and not have permitted herself or her colleagues to be blind-sided. Choice B If the program had been piloted just in Mrs. Byrons class with Jay and his family, it might have had a better chance of initial successwith more impact. Solving Jays problem would have done a great deal to raise chances of overall program success. And, Janet, Elaine and Jeannie could have concentrated their efforts more intensely on resolving that problem. Instead, they erred by treating Jays problems as just one more incidence of typical student misbehavior. It wasnt. Choice C More effort should have been placed on the parent involvement component of the program, especially with parents of children who are problematic. Periodic large-group parent meetings and once-a-month newsletters simply dont cut the mustard. Good parent involvement is essential. What would have improved the impact of the strategy, and perhaps changed its course, would have been to build individual parent-teacher-student conferences into the program. Choice D Why these choices? None of these statements is complete.
