FIRST
Baseline Data Collection in the Targeted Areas Before your TA begins, determine the scope of the problem that you will be addressing. How pervasive is the problem? How severe is the problem? Do you have an understanding as to why the problem exists.
HOW
EMSTAC WILL USE THIS INFO:
EMSTAC needs this information to determine how effective the TA was
and what we need to do differently to help you.
SECOND
Formative Evaluation Activities Design methods of collecting on-going data observations, interviews, etc. to determine the impact of the technical assistance. Use the results to improve what you are doing. This process should occur regularly and inform the decisions you make about the TA. Your monthly journals and evaluation by participants who attended a training event are formative evaluation activities.
HOW
EMSTAC WILL USE THIS INFO:
EMSTAC needs this information to learn What TA is occurring
in the District? How is the TA being provided?
THIRD
Summative Evaluation Activities What is the result of
your efforts? Has the TA program been successful in impacting the use
of research-based educational practices? Have the specific interventions
been successful? It is likely that your district already collects these
types of data (i.e. student test scores, office referrals, etc.).
HOW
EMSTAC WILL USE THIS INFO:
EMSTAC needs this information to learn How has the TA environment
changed? Has the intervention been successful? How can we help you
better?
FINALLY
Analysis of Results and Decision Making Should the intervention be continued? Are we ready to scale-up to additional schools? What problems occurred that could have been avoided and how can we modify our plans to avoid these problems next year?
HOW
EMSTAC WILL USE THIS INFO:
EMSTAC wants to know Was the intervention successful? What
needs to be done to scale-up to additional schools in your district?
How can we help you modify the intervention and scale-up?
