Did your response look something like the ones we generated?

    Is it safe?

    Can I afford it? Costs?

    Is it reliable? How well does it run?

    Is it what I really want? Will I look good in it? Does it have all the options I want?

These are some of the same things you consider while judging an intervention.

Is it safe?
Analogy to Intervention - Are there risks to using this? Will I be okay and continue to have control when I am using this program?

Can I afford it? Costs?
Analogy to Intervention – How much does the program cost, both in terms of financial resources, training, and in terms of my time?

Is it reliable? How well does it run?
Analogy to Intervention – Is the program successful? Is there any evidence that the program actually works and can I continue to use it over time?

Is it what I really want? Will I look good in it? Does it have all the options I want?
Analogy to Intervention – Does this intervention match my style? Do I philosophically agree with how this program addresses the problem?

Now let’s critically look at the criteria for selecting an intervention.
