"Never
doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can
change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Background
Supported
by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs
(OSEP), EMSTAC is a national resource for local educators working to
improve the lives of students with disabilities. EMSTAC is one of approximately
40 OSEP-funded Technical Assistance and Dissemination (TA&D) projects,
which also include clearinghouses, regional resource centers and various
projects focusing on different topical areas, such as early childhood,
parents, technology, behavior, reading and transition. Driven by the
expertise and hands-on interaction of our Linking Agents, EMSTAC is
dedicated to sharing information and resources on the most effective
strategies and practices to schools and school districts nationwide.
During
the 1998-2000 school years, EMSTAC Linking Agents worked closely with
educators in hands-on training to support changes and improvements in
these learning environments. Thanks to the power of the World Wide Web,
much of the information shared in these training modules is available
on-line for all educators, all the time.
