Prior to coming to AIR, Ms. Acosta lived and worked in El Salvador, where she spearheaded several educational initiatives. She was a founder of the Centro de Educación para el Desarrollo Rural (Center of Education for Rural Development), and of the Oscar Arnulfo Romero University in northern El Salvador.
