Monica Austin joined the American Institutes for Research in April of 2001. She is working on EMSTAC as the Librarian and other related EMSTAC tasks, as well as Head Start Impact, Outcomes, and Assessment. Prior to employment at the American Institutes for Research, Monica worked as an office manager at a mortgage company in Greenbelt, Maryland. Monica's experience is primarily in the health field and she has recently decided to focus on educational research. Monica graduated from Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama with an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy. Her professional interests include Behavioral, Mental, and Emotional Disorders and Interventions, At-Risk Children, and Cultural Competence.
