Wendy
Bauman joined the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as a Research
Assistant in August of 2001. She is currently working on EMSTAC
and a couple other projects pertaining to special education issues.
Wendy's
previous experience includes establishing a full credit college
class on educational reform issues. The class, which she created
and then facilitated each week, covered an array of pertinent topics
including cultural competency and school choice. She also founded
a peer education group to increase awareness and discussion of the
issues of eating disorders and body image on her college campus.
As an intern at the Silver Spring Regional Center, Wendy assisted
on projects for the large-scale redevelopment project of the downtown
and its diverse community.
Wendy
received her B.A. in American Government and Public Policy in May
2001 from Wesleyan University. She also earned a Certificate in
International Relations. Her interests lie in urban studies and
educational policy, on both the national and international levels.
