Aashti Zaidi works at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as a Research Associate and is currently working on two main projects. Aashti works on maintaining web-sites and developing a database of resources for EMSTAC and another project working on a common inter-agency definition of cultural competence.

Prior to employment with AIR, Aashti worked at The Women's Refuge in Berkeley, California where she helped in the day to day activities involved in running a women's shelter. Aashti also has experience working as a health educator at Girl's Incorporated in Holyoke, Massachusetts. She handled small group discussions and led workshops in health-related areas.

Aashti is a graduate of Smith College, '99 where she received a BA in Sociology with a minor in Afro-American Studies. Her interests lie in urban policy and planning and minority issues. Additional research interests include curricular and educational policy.
