Applicability to students with disabilities: The Strategic
Instructional Model (SIM) developed by the University of Kansas
Center for Research on Learning is an effective way to meet the
challenge of teaching diverse groups of students such as students
with disabilities, those considered to be low or under achievers,
and students who have English as a second language. To ensure
the effectiveness of the materials, they have been rigorously
field tested and validated by real teachers in real classrooms.
